Have you used a pre inspection auditor?

The thought of going towards an inspection, feeling unprepared, fills you with in trepidation?

It should

Inspections should not be feared if you can share the great things you deliver, the fact you can clearly show the intention of your training provision, and how it was implemented so it has the best impact on your learners, employers, and staff.

So, what do you do to test your provision?

You can call an auditor in.

I was speaking to a staff member of a training provider that had done just that. The member of staff was the nominee.

They had organised a lesson observation prepared, where a member of staff was teaching apprentices on an exciting unit, there isn't many on this particular apprenticeship!

They also prepared a selection of high achieving apprentices to be observed.

Did the observation go well?

You bet, very few items of critical feedback and a lot of praise.

So, what did the training provider get out of the audit?

Nothing.

Also, there is not so much controlling of the inspections these days, with the shortness of the time from the announcement and the actual inspection and the shortness of the inspection.

It is far better that your pre audits find everything that is below the standard expected, tells you how to improve, and then, and this most important, you run the improvements needed from the beginning until you can prove you have put every critical statement right.

How are you going to prove you are Ofsted inspection ready?
