How should we celebrate success?

How should we celebrate the success of our apprentices?

I have been lucky enough to attend a few graduations. I have always been blown away by the sense of occasion. The entrance and exit music, the pomp and ceremony, and then the award ceremony itself, oh the pride of watching a loved one being presented their certificate can be overwhelming.

I have also seen college apprenticeship evenings which celebrates apprenticeship students’ achievements and the employer’s support.

This can contrast with the experience of some apprenticeship learners, when their certificate arrives at their house, by second post.

I know we are in the middle of a pandemic, but should we not be looking at the best experience we can offer our successful apprentices when awarding their certificates?

There are not many training providers who can splash on such an occasion, but what about virtual celebrations?

It is easy to state why we cannot celebrate the success of each of the apprentices, but, in a climate, when every great experience contributes to the mental wellbeing of the learner, we should at least look at possibilities.

It would be interesting to see from training providers and colleges just how they are or intend to celebrate the apprentices’ success.
